Mermaid collection

Friday, 30 March 2012
Here's a little collection of clothing designs I did, consisting of dresses inspired by mermaids:

I don't dare to put any colours onto my sketches so instead I just label it. Lol. One fact about me is that I actually have an awful colouring skill so, that's the reason I rarely colour my drawings; unless if I do it on Photoshop, because I could just undo any mistakes I did, heh. ;) The theme colour should consist of metallic dark green or purple for the 'tail' (bodice / skirt); cream, light coral, peach or light yellow for 'tail fin' and for the top; and for the pumps — peach or gold.

Haven't done any fashion design in a long time. I've actually forgotten how enjoyable it was to do this! :D I've loved doing fashion design ever since I was a little girl. In fact, I actually wanted to be a fashion designer; but after a lot of thinking, I decided to pursue building design in the future instead to be more safe. I'm just gonna make this as a hobby instead and perhaps one day if I have the time and money, I could fabricate some of my designs. :)

These are some of the old clothing designs I did few years back. I think they're dated around 2006 til 2008. Forgive me if they look quite lame as I was younger that time. :D

The mermaid collection sketches were drawn in my Fashionary sketchbook. It's a sketchbook for fashion designing which already has over hundreds of figure templates for easier sketching. It also has some information on fashion and whatnot. I think it's a really neat sketchbook for anyone who likes fashion designing. For more information do head down to the official website at http://fashionary.org, where you can also buy the sketchbook. Free shipping worldwide! :)

Now that I've equipped myself with this neat weapon, I should really continue making lots of design sketches in the future. ;)
