NAME

The surname Alfrey means "elf" or "magical counsel". While Reina means "Queen”.

BACKGROUND

Reina was given birth one and a half minute earlier than her twin — Ruka — making her the first child out of three siblings. She is half-elven and half-human born from an elven mother and human father. She lives in a mansion with her siblings. Due to the absence of their parents, she takes on the parent role to take care of her siblings. Reina is looked up to by her younger sisters, which they referred her as the ‘perfect’ sister, and a 'beauty with brain and talent’. Having an elven blood inside her, she is naturally bestowed with elven powers, just like her siblings; though the human blood they also have made them appear almost like regular human being.

APPEARANCE

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Reina has fair skin and lavender eyes. She has long, straight, black hair with blue tint which she usually wears in high twin tails, just like her twin. She wears her bangs to the right in contrast with her twin who wears it to the left. Reina is taller than her twin by 3 centimetres and has quite a voluptuous body, unlike her twin whom is leaner.

FASHION SENSE
Reina’s regular character outfit is a dark blue thigh-length, silk tube dress with floral pattern donned with a matching long-sleeved bolero; a pair of sheer, black tights and black ankle boots. She secures her twin tails with black feather scrunchies. Her style is inspired by classic, victorian and gothic lolita clothing, akin to the the whole family. Her favourite colour is blue, hence, it only makes sense that she incorporates a lot of blue into her coordinates.

PERSONALITY

Naturally, as the first child, Reina appears to be more mature and responsible compared to the other two. She is deemed as the mother-figure of the three as she always takes care of her younger sisters. She loves to cook; always making sure everyone has a well-balanced meal everyday. She is also quite a neat freak; the mansion is always in order thanks to her. She has the skills in playing musical instruments, which she can play the violin very well. Although she appears to be calm and gentle, she is in fact a fierce lady, though only shown when provoked. She has a good sense of judgement where most of the time, she tries to remain calm and take on a more matured approach in dealing with any sort of situations. She always wear a gentle expression on her face. Having two mischievous sisters, she always have to chase after them every time both of them get on with their mischiefs, which were done intentionally just to annoy her. By the end of the day, Reina loves her sisters very much, they would always stick together and she would do anything to protect them.

Melisandre?

Current work-in-progress. This is one of my original characters, Scarlet Roku. I am planning to use this artwork as the official artwork of her when I officially introduce her.

I've been working on this one for a very long time now. Mainly because I decided to take an approach to a more realistic style of CG-ing so it's taking more effort than the usual (aside from being so busy as an Architecture student). Doing the hair only took up a tremendous amount of time since I did it strand by strand. Not sure if the details are noticeable to the others though.

I know the details aren't that great but I'm still learning!

I realized that all of my works don't bear a similar style because as an artist who's still learning, it's hard for me to stick to one style because I keep trying to experiment with different methods each time I do my work. I hope that someday I would develop my own distinctive style that people are able to recognize upon the first look. :)

Anyway, I've been into watching the series Games of Thrones recently and my friend told me that this character of mine looks like Melisandre, the red priestess from the series. I just realized it! Haha. Obviously it's because of her red hair and red getup that are very similar to Melisandre's.

I don't think I can finish this artwork in the near future but I can't wait to finish it up and finally post it! :)

OC Profile: Hitomi

NAME

Hitomi means 'pupil' or 'eye' in Japanese. The reason she was named Hitomi is because of the very distinguishable huge, red, one-eye that she has.

APPEARANCE

Hitomi has the body and the look of a female adolescent. She is very thin which in her case, she would be deemed as anorexic. Her skin can be as pale and cold as corpse, but with pink lips and tinge on her cheeks. Her hair is straight, falls just below her chest, blackest black in colour, very silky and cold when touched. Her eye is quite large with bright red pupil, with the letters S-B-M-K written in it. Letters 's' and 'k' on the white of the eyes, and 'b' and 'M' on the red pupil. She is originally a one-eyed being but occasionally changes into a more human-friendly form with two eyes when being around human, but keeping the original eye appearance. Though she actually dislikes doing it because she prefers to be her real self.

BACKGROUND

Hitomi is an immortal being that has lived for a very long time, up to the point that she no longer remembers her age. Her birthdate that is listed above isn't the real one since she doesn't even remember when, where or how she was given birth. 26 October is the birth date that was given to her. Hitomi is able to experience death but after a while she will be resurrected. She claims the experience as extremely painful; having to go through it a number of times has stripped off her deep emotions, leaving her chest almost empty.

PERSONALITY

After living such a long life, Hitomi develops a feeling of depression and loneliness, which are almost never shown because she tries her best in suppressing it. More over, she is unable to feel or show affection resulting from the aforementioned experience. Her regular self is shown to be a bit cheeky and mischievous. Hitomi has humour in herself, for instance, she likes taking advantage of her abnormal appearance to scare people. Hitomi is seldomly seen to like something; almost all the time she expresses her irritation and dissatisfaction on lots of things. Despite lacking empathy, Hitomi is still able to give out a smile, though it practically lacks a meaning behind it.

A Pop of Hitomi

A friend of mine gave me a blank artist canvas, asking me to paint something for him. I deliberately accepted it because I had never painted on a canvas before so I took the chance. I was so excited to try it out!

I already had the idea to paint one of my quite-known original character, Hitomi. It took me a while to figure out what kind of painting I should do until I decided to do a pop-art-ish kind of painting.

It took me almost a year to finish it up. Lol! Technically it didn't exactly take that long to paint it; probably only a week from the accumulated days. I was short of tools plus, I started college when I was halfway done with the painting so I had to put the painting on hold for a looong time because I got so busy with my studies.

Overall, even if the quality of the painting is quite poor, I am quite contented with the final product. It is my very first canvas painting after all and I am never exactly good with traditional media. I wish I had more pretty acrylic colors to work with (I kinda dislike mixing the colours) and proper tools. Nevertheless, I enjoy doing it and I wish to do more canvas painting in the future whilst sharpening my traditional media skill.

The painting had already been sent to my friend and I'm glad that he loved the painting. :D I actually enjoyed doing this so much that I'm even considering giving away free canvas painting to those who appreciate newbie artworks. :)

Hello! How long has it been since I last posted any illustration of mine??

I've been extremely busy with college that I barely had time to work on any illustration at all! Well this is the life of an architecture student lol. But I'm already at the end of my semester and to celebrate it, I did a digital illustration using one of my old linearts of my OC, Scarlet Roku. :D

This is Scarlet Roku, one of my OCs. I still haven't properly introduced her yet but I have written an official short profile for her. I'm still working on an official illustration of her before I could post her profile but I haven't managed to finish it up thanks to college. Since I'm already at the end of the semester and I have a month+ of holiday, I'll try to finish it up and publish her profile soon. :)

On another note, omg I survived my first semester! :D

These two are my original characters, The Alfrey sisters — Ruka (left) and Reina (right). They're twins, and they have a younger sister, Rika; but I will introduce her later in another drawing. I haven't finished writing their profiles; I will publish it later when I do. :)

I'm proud to say that my CG skill has improved a bit since the last time I did the disastrous piece months ago. Yay! :D I'm still learning how to choose the perfect colours, and the shading is still messy but yeah, I'm still learning. As for the background and the patterns, I can only say that I really suck in doing them but thanks to ~pigmonkeynsuzi's brushes, I'm able to come out with a decent piece. Anyway, overall I am quite satisfied with this artwork eventhough it has a lot of flaws. I think it's the best digital illustration I've done so far. :)

On another note, I just finished watching the anime Guilty Crown recently and I was just astonished by Redjuice's magnificent, beautiful artworks; so I'm gonna try my best in perfecting my CG skill, hoping that someday I could become as amazing as him. :)

Scarlet 六Roku

I didn't have much time to do sketches this month because I got so busy with my sister's wedding on the 7th and 14th, and then there's Ramadhan... and, well, many other stuff. Basically, July was really hectic.

But I did manage to give birth to a brand new Original Character of mine — Scarlet Roku (stylized as Scarlet 六Roku).





I will be putting up a proper profile about her soon. :)

Dark Eye

I am delighted to announce that I have given birth to a new character — Dark Eye! :D I'm still working on her profile and a little background story, I'll be putting it up soon. :)

New sketchbook!

Just got myself a new A5 sketchbook! So I can bring it in my handbag to anywhere I go. Hehe.

So, to officiate the sketchbook, I drew a short-haired Hitomi! (*v*)
